Grammy Fashion

I love watching awards shows.  Admittedly, a big part of that is because of the fashion.  I don’t watch as many as I use to, but there are some I won’t miss if at all possible.  The Oscars is the one I probably look most forward to.  It’s probably the equivalent, to me, of the Super Bowl for those that are sports fans.  (No, I’m not apologizing for saying that either.)

I missed the Grammys, but still will do a review of my own on the fashion later that night on the sites that show them.  You know, my likes and dislikes, for my very own reasons, for no one but me.  I went through a few and saw some obvious and immediate mistakes and winners.  Some were okay, but needed some minor changes.  So I played “Photoshop paper dolls” and made my improvements on a couple.  Here’s what I came up with.

I like the dress on the left — just not the color for her.  It washes her skin tone out and makes her look lifeless and dull.  However, a quick change of color, something more suitable to her skin tone, and she appears more fresh and alive.  I also added a little color to her lips which looked non-existent in the photo on the left.  I put a couple of matching jewels in her earrings and I like it much better!

The next one looks great in the dress she chose, I thought.  But even the dress above on the left looks much better on someone with a darker skin tone.  Didn’t need to do a thing with her lip color.  Someone already knows what they are doing!

I love this next dress!  I really do.  And I think it looks good on her, too.  But I don’t care for that clutch she is holding at all.  I realize she (or her stylist) probably chose it because they thought it would “blend” into the dress without taking attention away from the dress.  WRONG!  To me, it stands out more and actually distracts from the dress, rather than enhancing it.  And I thought she could use a little  brighter lip color to help accentuate the same tone in the dress and the clutch, making the dress, and her face, stand out more.

And I did NOT Photoshop anything but the dresses (just from the original colors to change or to change to another person) and accessories.  Yet, you can still see a slight change in the skin and hair color appearance because of those changes.

Then, sadly, there are some that nothing can be done for.
